Lead stands on the clockwise side of follow and the follow mirrors the lead, who on 1,2,3, taps with left foot while leaning outward holding left arm up. On 5,6,7, lead bends inward, taping with right foot as shown in figure 1. This is typically used to start the Rueda and the couples are in the closed position with the right arm of the lead around the back of the follow.
